ACC Aviation Group Launches US Subsidiary ACC Aviation Group, has announced the opening of its US subsidiary, ACC Aviation Inc., following a record year across all divisions in 2018. Continuing the momentum from the organisation’s recent expansion into Asia, the business in North America will be based out of a new office in New York, with the team being headed up by Jamie Harris, who re-joins ACC following successful tenures at both Air Charter Service and Chapman Freeborn. Angie Owens Named American Airlines Controller Effective March 1, 2019 American Airlines announced 11 January that Angie Owens will succeed Mike Carreon as Vice President and Corporate Controller, effective March 1, 2019. Mike is set to retire after 24 years with the company once the 2018 reporting season concludes. Angie will begin overseeing all accounting operations, including external reporting, tax, financial systems and internal controls, as well as the company’s payment processing. Boeing unveils new Transonic Truss-Braced Wing Boeing revealed the newest Transonic Truss-Braced Wing (TTBW), which researchers say will fly higher and faster than the previous TTBW concepts. The new configuration is designed to offer unprecedented aerodynamic efficiency while flying at Mach 0.80. Delta extends Airbus A220 order book to 90 total aircraft Delta has reached an agreement with Airbus to extend its order book of the highly efficient, state-of-the-art A220 by 15 aircraft to a total of 90. Delta's future A220 fleet will consist of 40 A220-100 series aircraft and the remaining 50 will be the larger A220-300 variant. Delta anticipates taking its first delivery of the A220-300 in 2020. Embraer's Board of Directors ratifies approval of the deal with Boeing Embraer's Board of Directors 11 January ratified pior approval regarding the strategic partnership with Boeing. Yesterday, the Government of Brazil authorized the transaction that would position both companies to accelerate growth in global aerospace markets. The closing of the transaction will be subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals and the transaction is intended to close by the end of 2019. Frontier Pilots Overwhelmingly Ratify New Five-Year Contract that Provides Significant Raises, Preserves Favorable Work Rules Frontier Airlines pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l, have overwhelmingly ratified a new five-year contract worth more than $1 billion in new value over the life of the agreement. The agreement includes an average 53 percent across-the-board pay increase when the contract becomes effective on January 16, 2019. It also includes a $75 million ratification bonus, the highest such payment ever negotiated on a per-pilot basis. Triumph Group Completes Sale of APU Repair Product Line Triumph Group, Inc announced 10 January that it has completed the previously announced sale of it APU Repair Product Line (RPL) of Triumph Aviation Services Asia, Ltd.
