AEI Announces B737-400SF For Royal Aero Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) signed a contract with Miesbach, Germany-based Royal Aero to provide the company with a B737-400SF freighter. The aircraft (MSN 29204) will commence modification next week at Commercial Jet’s Dothan, Alabama facility, and will be redelivered to Royal Aero in May 2019. This will be Royal Aero’s first AEI B737-400SF freighter conversion. Alaska Airlines names three vice presidents The Alaska Airlines board of directors has elected three new company officers: Constance von Muehlen, senior vice president of maintenance and engineering; Ron Calvin, vice president of inflight; and Jenny Wetzel, vice president of labor relations. Air Lease Corporation Announces Pricing of Public Offering of $700 Million of Senior Unsecured Medium-Term Notes Air Lease Corporation announced the pricing on January 15, 2019 of its public offering of $700 million aggregate principal amount of 4.250% senior unsecured medium-term notes due February 1, 2024 . The sale of the Notes is expected to close on January 23, 2019, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions. American Airlines Strengthens Integrated Operations Leadership Team American Airlines announced 17 January that Kevin Brickner, who currently serves as Vice President of Safety and Operations Integration as well as the airline’s certificated Director of Safety, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Technical Operations (Tech Ops). Kevin takes over the role from David Seymour, who was named Senior Vice President of Integrated Operations in 2016. Kevin will be responsible for overseeing line and base maintenance; engineering, planning and production support for airframes, engines and components; and aircraft supply chain operations, among many other responsibilities. CommutAir, a United Express Carrier, Announces Richard Hoefling as President and CEO CommutAir, a United Express regional carrier announced 18 January the appointment of Richard (Rick) Hoefling to the role of president and chief executive officer, effective February 1. Hoefling currently serves as vice president – Newark for United Airlines and oversees the carrier's operations at both Newark Liberty and LaGuardia airports, which average more than 450 daily flight departures, with combined staffing of more than 14,000 employees. Construction begins on Airbus’ U.S. A220 Manufacturing Facility Airbus’ manufacturing growth in the United States advanced another step today in Mobile, Alabama, as construction of the company’s A220 Manufacturing Facility officially launched with a groundbreaking ceremony. The assembly line will satisfy the strong and growing U.S. demand for the A220 aircraft, the newest offering in Airbus’ commercial aircraft product line. Delta Cargo, Virgin Atlantic Cargo to drive long-term growth with move to new purpose-built facility at London Heathrow Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Delta Cargo are to move into the new purpose-built dnata City East, London Heathrow’s most state-of-the-art cargo facility. The move supports the airlines’ growing cargo businesses, enhances their trans-Atlantic partnership for customers, and future-proofs the joint venture’s position in the U.K. market by doubling the size of their cargo footprint at the airport. Samoa Airways to lease B737 MAX 9 from Air Lease Corporation Samoa Airways signed a MOU agreement with US-lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) to lease one B737 MAX 9, with delivery from March 2019.
