American plans to launch new Beijing flight in November American Airlines plans to launch its new flight to Beijing from Los Angeles in November, after securing economically viable slots at the Chinese airport. The Fort Worth-based Oneworld Alliance carrier plans to begin daily service on 5 November, it says in a filing with the US Department of Transportation . It has previously said it will use a 289-seat Boeing 777-200 on the route. Boeing Creates New Organization To Develop, Build Avionics Boeing has established its own organization to develop and produce avionics and other electronics, the manufacturer said on July 31. Plans call for delivering products in the next decade, positioning Boeing to compete against avionics suppliers such as Honeywell, Rockwell Collins and GE Aviation. The Boeing avionics organization is focused on producing navigation, flight-control and information systems for both commercial and military aircraft. Delta Air Lines Takes Delivery Of First U.S.-Based Airbus A350 Widebody Aircraft Delta Air Lines took delivery of the world's first Airbus A350 to be operated by a U.S commercial air carrier. Delta plans to use its A350 fleet for long haul flights. The aircraft received this past weekend is slated to eventually enter service on a route between Detroit and Tokyo. First, however, it needs to spend 10 weeks in the United States preparing to enter service. On October 30th, the aircraft will officially enter service. Ducommun Lands New Work for 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter Program Ducommun Incorporated has begun work to manufacture aluminum aircraft structures for the Next-Generation 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) program. Ducommun is manufacturing fuselage skins that frame the cargo door of the converted aircraft at the Company’s operations in Gardena and Orange, Calif., through 2021. According to Boeing, the first 737-800BCF is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017. Precision and ATSG Announce Joint Venture for Passenger-to-Freighter Conversion of Airbus A321-200 Aircraft Precision Aircraft Solutions, LLC (PAS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Erickson Group Ltd. (EGL) of Beaverton, Oregon, and Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATSG) through its subsidiary Cargo Aircraft Management, Inc. (CAM) of Wilmington, Ohio announced the formation of 321 Precision Conversions, LLC, a joint-venture company to develop a passenger-to-freighter conversion of Airbus A321-200 aircraft.
