American Airlines raises forecast for key revenue metric American Airlines Group raised its quarterly forecast for a key revenue metric, citing higher average fares. The No. 1 U.S. airline said it now expects total unit revenue, which measures sales with flight capacity, to be up about 2-4% compared with the 1.5-3.5% it previously forecast. ATSG Subsidiary PEMCO Wins Three-Year Maintenance Contract with Frontier Airlines Aviation maintenance and engineering company PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO) has secured a three-year maintenance agreement with U.S.-based low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines covering Frontier’s expanding fleet, consisting today of more than 60 Airbus A320-family passenger aircraft. Senator Proposes a US Airline Passenger Bill Of Rights Sen. Richard Blumenthal proposed new legislation for an Airlines Passenger Bill of Rights in the wake of the United Airlines debacle last week. Business Travel Coalition Chairman Kevin Mitchell praised Blumenthal’s efforts, saying that compared to other industries airline passengers are in a consumer protection no man’s land. Southwest gets fewest customer complaints of US airlines Southwest Airlines has been ranked Most Satisfactory Airline in the US in a recent study, with Alaska Airlines named Best Overall Airline and Jet Blue Most Comfortable Airline. Personal finance website Wallet Hub ranked the top 12 US airlines in 13 categories: cancelled flights, delays, mishandled baggage, denied boarding, complaints, animal-related incidents, leg room, entertainment options, wifi, complimentary refreshments, and price. Spirit becomes third U.S. airline to call it quits in Cuba Spirit Airlines has become the latest to carrier to cease regular passenger service to Cuba. It's now the third U.S. carrier to do so after similar announcements earlier this year from Frontier and Silver Airways.
