AFG Aviation Ireland Limited (AFG) announced the appointment of Mr. Alexandros Karydis as VP Sales & Marketing. Alexandros has spent over 25 years in the commercial aviation industry in various positions, primarily engaged in aircraft and engines sales & marketing roles.
Castlelake Sales 118 Aircraft Portfolio to Avolon
Castlelake announced it has entered into a sale-purchase agreement with Avolon, for the sale of a $5 billion, 118-aircraft portfolio held by Castlelake Aviation Limited. Castlelake added the sale of the portfolio simultaneously contributes to Castlelake's goal of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns to its investors and provides Avolon with a fleet of high-quality aircraft assets. Castlelake Partner and Deputy Co-Chief Investment Officer, Joe McConnell stated "With this agreement, we're pleased to achieve what we believe to be a great outcome for all involved parties. We're proud of the incredible accomplishments of CA Ltd., thank our investors and partners for their support and look forward to reinvesting the proceeds of this transaction into new opportunities to provide innovative financings to airlines and leasing companies."
Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announces promotion
Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced the promotion of Jennifer Creevey to Deputy CEO effective September 9. Jennifer has been NAC CFO since May 2023 and will continue to report to the CEO and retain all her current responsibilities in Finance and IT. Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) President & CEO Norman C.T. Liu, said “Jennifer has been an outstanding CFO and high impact business partner since joining last year and will be a pivotal player as we pursue and implement various strategic alternatives in the near future."
Widerøe leases two Dash 8-400s from TrueNoord
TrueNoord announced the lease of two De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft toWiderøe’s Flyveselskap AS. The two aircraft (MSN 4439/4448), are on an operating lease and formed part of the latest portfolio acquisition from NAC. TrueNoord Sales Director Europe Mike Adams stated “Turboprops continue to play a vital role in connecting remote communities through the right sizing of capacity to meet demand, their inherent reliability, and operating cost benefits. TrueNoord is delighted to add Widerøe as a customer, expanding our Dash 8-400 portfolio with the Nordic region’s largest operator of regional aircraft.”
