Akasa Air celebrates second anniversary

Akasa Air celebrated its second anniversary, having carried 11 million passengers ssince its inaugural flight on August 7, 2022, from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, to today operating 22 domestic cities and five international destinations with over 900 weekly flights with a fleet of 24 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with 150 on order. Akasa Air Founder & CEO Vinay Dube, said “Two years ago, we set out to transform air travel with a vision of reliability, service excellence, and affordability. Boeing Partners with AIESL to Support Indian P-8I Fleet

Boeing announced it has partnered with AIESL to provide in-country overhaul services of critical components for the Indian Navy’s fleet of 12 Boeing P-8I aircraft. As part of the partnership, the first landing gear overhaul of a P-8I aircraft was recently completed at INS Rajali. Boeing India President Salil Gupte, said “Through this partnership with AIESL, we continue to make strategic investments in India’s MRO capabilities that enhance mission readiness rates for the Indian Navy. Developing local MRO capabilities is critical for reducing repair turnaround time and aircraft downtime, thereby improving the mission readiness of customer fleets.”

 

IndiGo selects RECARO Seats for Airbus A321Neo for business class

IndiGo announced it has partnered with RECARO Aircraft Seating to equip its upcoming Airbus A321neo business cabins with R5 seats. The RECARO R5 seats will offer advanced comfort and robust functionality, featuring a 38-inch pitch and a customized, ergonomic design, lightweight design. Additionally, the aircraft will feature the RECARO R2 seats in economy class. A total of 45 Shipsets have been ordered to meet this upgrade, with each A321neo aircraft featuring 12 business class seats and 208 economy class seats. IndiGo CEO Mr. Pieter Elbers said "IndiGo is embarking on an additional new path of its incredible growth story by introducing this year a tailor-made business product on the nation’s busiest and business routes. For our business product, the seat choice for Recaro’s seat is a great fit to deliver our customers such a new experience of business travel in India matching the needs of evolving India and our customers.”
