Akasa Air redefines travel experience

Air India Optimises Airbus A320Neo capacity on key Metro hub routes

Air India announced an optimisation of its domestic route network that will prioritise deployment of its A320 production on five key metro-to-metro routes, following integration of Vistara. Air India now offers more than 1,000 weekly flights (round trips) on these key routes from Delhi to Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, Hyderabad and Mumbai to Bengaluru and Hyderabad using three class Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring Business, Economy Class and Premium Economy. In addition Air India will continue to operate one widebody flight each between Delhi and Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad using its Airbus A350-900 or Boeing 777 aircraft. Air India Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director,  Campbell Wilson, said "The merger of Vistara into Air India has unlocked many new opportunities to improve our customer offering. By combining the strengths of both full-service carriers, we are able to consolidate our best narrowbody offering on routes where there is desire for a high-frequency, full-service product. We will progressively expand the coverage to more routes as Air India inducts new aircraft and completes the retrofit of our legacy narrowbody fleet during 2025.”

IndiGo connects Kolkata to Phuket

IndiGo announced a new daily route connecting Kolkata to Phuket commencing 27 December 2024. The route will strengthen trade, commerce and tourism between India and Southeast Asia. Kolkata, India’s first metropolitan city and a regional hub for Indian tourists. IndiGo Head of Global Sales Mr. Vinay Malhotra said, “We are pleased to further expand our network into Thailand, from Kolkata, now adding a daily flight to Phuket in addition to the existing 11 weekly flights to Bangkok. With this new route, IndiGo will now operate 93 weekly flights between India and Thailand. Phuket, Thailand's largest island, is known for its serene beaches and cultural diversity, and the country's visa-free policy for Indian citizens is expected to drive even greater demand.
