Air Arabia Abu Dhabi expands operations to three cities in India Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has announced the introduction of a new service to three destinations in India starting from November 3rd to Cochin, Calicut and Trivandrum. DHL Express opens newly expanded facility at Bangalore airport DHL Express opened its new and expanded express handling airside facility within the Bangalore International Airport with an investment of €22 million (about Rs 200 crore) over the next 10 years. The additional capacity at the expanded Bengaluru Gateway enables DHL Express to offer 12 to 24 hours faster connection and delivery of imported goods across India, and reduce daily cut-off time for shipment pick-up by up to 60 minutes. Go First signs pact with UAE-based Lulu Group for cargo transportation from Srinagar to Sharjah Go First signed an agreement with the UAE-based Lulu Group to transport cargo from Srinagar to Sharjah. Go First was the first airline to start direct international connection from the Kashmir Valley and has now also become the first airline to start the international cargo services from the sector, enabling a bridge between J&K and the Gulf region and in particular to Dubai and Sharjah regions. Gujarat to expand intercity air service The state government announced expansion of the intercity air service network to better connect Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara and other cities using 9-seater aircraft. Purnesh Modi, civil aviation minister announcing the state government’s new focus said “The state government intends to expand the intercity air-connectivity to provide faster transportation services to citizens. Five new airlines services will be started from Ahmedabad and Surat shortly”. Hubballi airport opens north Karnataka’s first dedicated cargo terminal North Karnataka’s first dedicated domestic air cargo terminal started operations at Hubballi Airport on Wednesday to improve the trade and logistics profile of the north Karnataka region. The proposal to convert the old passenger terminal building at the airport to a cargo terminal was long pending and now the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company Limited have carried out the conversion at an estimated cost of Rs 45 lakh. Lufthansa Cargo to partner with IBS software to digitalize critical handling processes In a major step towards digitalization and improving quality in worldwide cargo handling, Lufthansa Cargo is partnering with IBS Software to digitalize critical handling processes for special products and services like dangerous goods, pharmaceuticals and fresh produce. Through the iPartner Handling solution, rich information captured by GHAs is made available to Lufthansa Cargo on a real-time basis, enhancing the quality and service levels of all of its cargo products SVP & Head of Cargo and Logistics, IBS Software Ashok Rajan said “The iPartner Handling solution takes us one step further towards our over-arching goal of building a digital ecosystem for our iCargo customers that can help generate positive business outcomes for them quickly and effectively.” Vistara Will Increase Flights By 22% Compared To Winter 2019 The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has approved the winter schedule for 2021 commencing end of October effective till end of March .
