IndiGo connects MOPA (North Goa) to Abu Dhabi

IndiGo announced new route between MOPA (North Goa) and Abu Dhabi, effective 2 September operating three times weekly . The new route will meet the increasing demand for travel to Goa and Middle East. IndiGo Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra said “Introducing an exciting development in our flight offerings, we are thrilled to announce new connections between North Goa (Mopa Airport) and Abu Dhabi. The substantial demand, in India, for travel to the Middle East has not gone unnoticed, and at IndiGo, we are proactively taking steps to cater to this demand through these new connections. With the addition of these flights, IndiGo will fly 52 times a week to Abu Dhabi from 8 cities in India, bringing the UAE even closer. As we include these routes in our upcoming winter schedule, we are confident that both destinations will experience a significant boost in trade/tourism.” 

 

New Port Blair Airport terminal opens

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the New Integrated Terminal Building of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair via video conferencing on 18 July. The new passenger terminal building is equipped with 28 check-in counters, 12 immigration counters, three passenger boarding bridges and three conveyor belts, with   three floors comprising of lower ground, upper ground and first floor, with capacity to handle 1,200 passenger per hour. The apron has parking stands capable of handling two Airbus A321 and two Boeing 767-400 aircraft.  The Prime Minister said “Even though today’s program is taking place in Port Blair, the entire nation is keenly looking towards the Union Territory as the demand for increasing the passenger handling capacity of Veer Savarkar International Airport is being fulfilled.”

 

Take off for Air India’s new inflight magazine

Air India announced the launch of its all-new inflight magazine titled ‘namaste.ai’  as another milestone towards enhancing customer experience, available across its domestic and international route network. The inaugural edition of namaste.ai features an inspirational cover story on the legendary JRD Tata as a tribute to the ‘Father of Indian Aviation’ to celebrate his birth anniversary on 29th July. Air India CEO & MD Campbell Wilson said, “The name namaste.ai comes from the Indian greeting. Apart from being a land of diverse geographies, people, and cultures, India is known for its warm hospitality. Through namaste.ai, we will attempt to give our guests a glimpse of all that and more. We want to enhance our guests’ experience of flying with us even more pleasurable.”
