Air India wins prestigious title at World Travel Awards (WTA)
Air India announced it has been awarded the coveted title of Asia’s Leading Airline Inflight Entertainment (IFE) 2024 at the 31st World Travel Awards (WTA) held this year in Manila. This is the first time that an Indian airline has won this title. The award recognises the full suite of Inflight Entertainment (IFE) content curated by Air India on the airline’s Airbus A350s presently serving the Delhi-Heathrow route and next month commences to New York (JFK). Air India Chief Customer Experience Officer, Rajesh Dogra said “This award is a testimony of Air India’s commitment to providing our customers with the best inflight entertainment experience. It reaffirms our commitment to the ongoing transformation of Air India into a world-class airline.”
Delhi Declaration on Civil Aviation
The 2nd Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation concluded on 12th September. The 2 day conference hosted by Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), saw the participation of delegates from 29 Countries Ministers and Policy Makers, and 8 International Organizations including IATA. The conference witnessed engaging discussions and presentations focused on shaping the future of aviation in the Asia Pacific region. A significant milestone of the conference has been the formal adoption of the Delhi Declaration, a comprehensive framework aimed at enhancing regional cooperation, addressing emerging challenges, and fostering sustainable growth within the civil aviation sector. Prime Minister Modi shared the technological and infrastructural advancements made by India in the sector with the top civil aviation leaders of the Asia-pacific region, highlighting the crucial role of the civil aviation sector, he said focus is on connecting people, culture and prosperity through the sector.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated, "The Hon'ble Prime Minister's commitment to inclusivity and sustainability is evident, with initiatives like the 'Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam' campaign and the planting of 80 thousand saplings to commemorate ICAO's 80 years. Under his visionary leadership, India is set to achieve its goal of having 350-400 airports by 2047, positioning the nation as a key player in global aviation. Today, India not only supports but leads collaborative efforts, as exemplified during the COVID-19 pandemic. By delivering vaccines across Asia and the Pacific, India reinforced its commitment to ‘One World, One Planet, One Future, One Family.’

This initiative underscores the airline unwavering dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards across its expanding route network. The technology platform utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze vast amounts of data from various sources, including open-source intelligence (OSINT) and official aviation bodies like European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This comprehensive approach provides IndiGo with real-time alerts and actionable insights on a wide range of potential security risks, encompassing both airspace security and potential disruptions at airports and cities within its network.
IndiGo Senior Vice President - Flight Operations Capt. Ashim Mittra, said, "As IndiGo expands globally, the safety and security of our passengers and crew remain paramount. This new technology empowers us to proactively identify potential risks by providing real-time intelligence, allowing us to make well-informed decisions that prioritize the well-being of everyone onboard.
