Japan Airlines (JAL) responds to Bengaluru route demand

Air India inaugurates non-stop Delhi to Kuala Lumpur route

Air India, 16 September inaugurated its daily, non-stop flights between its growing Delhi hub and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), operated by two class Airbus A320neo aircraft, becoming Air India’s sixth destination in Southeast Asia. Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal, said  "As we inaugurate our Delhi-Kuala Lumpur route, we are not just connecting two cities; we are contributing to the growing exchange between two rich cultures and supporting bilateral trade and tourism. We look forward to welcoming guests aboard from India and Malaysia, as well as from North America and Europe who will now find a convenient way to connect to and from Kuala Lumpur via our hub in Delhi."

 

IndiGo adds Mauritius to international network

IndiGo announced direct flights to Mauritius from its Bengaluru hub, commencing on 19 November The carrier will be the first airline post-pandemic to start operations on this route through four weekly direct flights, enhancing connectivity between the two countries. Mauritius becomes IndiGo's 35th international and 123rd overall destination. Indigo stated “This new route will establish a direct link between two dynamic economic hubs—Bengaluru, referred to as India’s Silicon Valley, and Mauritius, a gateway to East Africa. With the launch of the new destination, the airline will not only meet the growing demand for tourism but will also serve as a vital enabler of trade, investment, and business partnerships between India and East Africa.”

IndiGo Head of Global Sales Mr. Vinay Malhotra said, “We are delighted on the addition of yet another stunning beach destination, Mauritius, to our growing international network. With four flights a week from Bengaluru to Mauritius, this direct flight will shorten travel time, bringing added convenience to our passengers. With easy norms such as visa-on-arrival for Indian citizens, this new route opens exciting opportunities for leisure as well as business travellers.”

To accommodate rising demand, JAL will increase its operations from three to five flights per week on the Tokyo to Bengaluru route, commencing 26th October, using two class 186 seat Boeing 787-8 aircraft.  Bangalore International Airport Chief Operating Officer Satyaki Raghunath, stated  " We are delighted that JAL Group has chosen to expand its operations at BLR Airport, further solidifying our airport's reputation as South / Central India’s leading international gateway. This strategic decision not only enhances passenger convenience and boosts regional economic growth but also strengthens our commitment to connecting Bengaluru to major global centres of commerce and tourism. As we continue to expand our operations, we remain dedicated to delivering exceptional travel experiences and setting new benchmarks in connectivity.”
